Dining With André is
a full service caterer. We offer a wide variety of American, French
and international menus with experienced servers, bar staff and support.
We also have access to quality photographers, floral designers, D.J.
and musicians. Dining With André can also provide you with complete
wedding and event coordination as well!
Co-owners Cristina and André met at the South Pasadena
Culinary School in 1995, where André was a founding teacher and Cristina
headed up the Marketing and Admissions efforts at the school. André
departed in early 1996 and taught at a competitive culinary school
in the Valley. In late 1997, Cristina and André were reacquainted.
Cristina, realizing the potential power of their combined skills,
suggested they start a catering company. They formed Dining with
André in early 1998 and continue to see a fast growing, exciting
approach to the restaurant and catering business. Their unique approach
is to customize each project to be special for the host and hostess
and to meet their needs in every respect.
On their way to Napa, on their honeymoon, in January
of 2002, Cristina and André stopped in Los Osos to visit friends.
They were presented with the Norman Vineyard “Monster”. They were
intrigued by the rich, full bodied wine and decided to go to the
winery in Paso Robles. André could not get over the similarity of
“terrior” ( french for terrain) between the Paso Robles country side
and his native Provence. They found Norman winery and were charmed
by Art and Lei Norman, who subsequently became good friends. Later
that year Cristina and André went back to Paso Robles for further
investigation of the wine and “terror”. That trip “sealed the deal”
and with in the next nine months, they had sold their restaurant,
bought a house and moved permanently to Paso. Today Dining with André
exists in downtown Paso Robles, in a renovated plumbing supply store.
Though the efforts of André and Cristina, it charm represents the
many little cafés found in Provence.
