Neil Roberts, Clavo Cellars’ founder, is about grape growing. But not just any grapegrowing; holistic, sustainable farming and true devotion to stewardship of the land. Over the course of his venerable career, Roberts has managed over 15,000 acres of premium vineyards across Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties. He’s farmed grapes for such industry power houses as Hampton Farming, Robert Mondavi Winery, Hames Valley Vineyards, Margarita Ranch, Peachy Canyon Vineyard and Vina Robles Winery. Roberts uses his knowledge and contacts to make his own wine from some of the best farmed fruit on the Central Coast.
